Chosenness refers to the quality or state of being specifically selected or singled out for a special purpose, often with deep religious or spiritual significance implying a unique purpose of existence.

Chokepoints are narrow maritime passages - or canals - through which a significant portion of global trade and energy transit pass. 

Examples include the Strait of Malacca (between the Indian and Pacific Oceans), the Bab el-Mandeb (linking the Red Sea to the Gulf of Aden), the Bosporus Strait (connecting the Black Sea to the Mediterranean), the Suez Canal, and the Strait of Hormuz (through which a significant share of global oil exports flow).

A public float level refers to how many shares can be bought or sold from a Publicly Listed Entity [PLE].

Earlier this month, the Philippine Securities and Exchange Comission [SEC] released a draft memorandum circular proposing a tiered minimum public ownership framework for companies seeking to list shares on the Philippine Stock Exchange.

Under the proposed rules, a 12% public float level would be required for companies with an expected market value of over PHP150B, while a 33% float would be required for companies with a market cap of PHP500M or less.

Seen as Kenyan fighters for independence from the British - the Mau Mau were a militant nationalist movement,  primarily composed of members from the Kikuyu ethnic group, who waged a guerilla uprising against British colonial rule in Kenya, from 1952 to 1960. Mau Mau's most famous leader was Dedan Kimathi. 

90% of the Mau Mau victims were recorded to be Kenyans who either opposed them or refused to pledge allegiance. Ndirangu Mau was a colonial homeguard who opposed the Mau Mau and worked with the British, with the aim of bridging concerns of the Kenyan people. Many members of the Kikuyu community who did not support Mau Mau's rebellion, supported Ndirangus efforts. 

Dedan Kimathi was killed by Ndirangu Mau, who incidentally received a bounty for the murder. Today, Mau Mau are venerated as national heroes, while Ndirangu is seen as a national traitor.

For the purpose of this debate, there exists a civilisation “below ground” where people live in peace and harmony. They have rich natural resources, their own economic and political systems of life; and levels of technology adequate for sustenance.<br><br>The civilisation "above ground" are a race of humans who are relatively scattered, living in different geographical ecosystems and socio-political ways of life. They also have very advanced levels of technology without relative peace.&nbsp;<br><br>These two civilisations are aware of each other's existence and have historically lived separate, sovereign lives. Widespread conflict has broken out in the civilisation "above ground", causing chaos and mass displacement of people.
